Xiaomi and SKMCH
Generosity is giving more, and pride is taking less than you need. These are lines said by Khalil Jibran. Xiaomi Pakistan took a generic step and join hands with SKMCH for the poor cancer patients in Pakistan. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Center is the chain of the largest cancer hospitals in Pakistan. SKMCH&RC was opened in the year of 1994 for the first time.
This Great initiative was taken by Mr. IMRAN KHAN, a legend cricketer, former Captain of Pakistan cricket team. In his captaincy, Pakistan won the Cricket World Cup of 1992. Now he is leading 2nd most popular political party in the country. Shaukat Khanum was the name of his mother, she was also a cancer patient. Two hospitals, in Lahore and Peshawar, are already functional and other third in Karachi is under construction.
Appeal by Chairman IK for the Hospital.
We have resolved to undertake these seemingly ambitious projects only because of our absolute belief in your passion and generosity that has never let us down in the past. The annual operating budget for the year 2017 is Rs. 10 billion and as in the past years, we expect about half of this to be met by your donations and Zakat. While the revenue from the Hospital’s services continues to be utilized for our expansion projects, it is your Zakat that enables us to treat poor cancer patients. I hope this Ramadan too you will give your Zakat generously to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre and enable us to continue to fulfill our promise of hope for thousands of poor cancer patients.
Xiaomi Pakistan and SmartLink Technologies, the official distributor partner of Xiaomi in Pakistan announced in the holy month of Ramadan that the company will donate a Rs. 1000 to SKMCH for every smartphone sold on http://www.mistore.pk/. Besides that, Xiaomi will donate Rs. 100 for any other thing sold on the Mi store from Accessories. And this campaign will be continued for more 15 days even after Eid.
Talking about this movement, Mr. Ahmad Butt, MD SmartLink has said:
“I strongly believe that whatever we do in life, we cannot succeed until and unless we reach out and help those who do not have any support in their lives. When we got the opportunity to collaborate with Shaukat Khanum Trust for this campaign, we jumped right in because if we can have anything to do with the difference that SKMCH makes in people’s lives, we can be proud of not only our initiative but also the empathy from our customers.”,
