Facebook Messenger Lite

All the time favorite and most used website Facebook is making progress day by day. The company is going beyond boundaries to make this world interconnected with each other. The CEO, Mark Zuckerberg started with Facebook and then expanded his startup in many ongoing ventures. The Facebook has acquisition of almost 50 other companies. Famous Instagram and WhatsApp also now working under the umbrella of Facebook.

Facebook is getting some good ideas as well as some copied ideas (SnapChat Stories) to compete with other social networking platforms. The company introduced Facebook Lite in 2015 and got an overwhelming response from developing countries.

So, the company picked up another timely idea and released a lite version of its Messenger application. Initially, Messenger Lite originally launched for Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. Now the company has made an expansion and released this late application for more than 100 countries.

According to The Verge, Facebook has rolled out this update in 100 new countries and all the other figures of 132 and 150 new countries are baseless.  

In developing countries, most people have access to slow network connections and Facebook identified that gap to fill out with their lite applications. This app takes almost 10 MB of storage to install and is very fast in launching.

Facebook Messenger Lite application is same in working and approximately has the same user interface but there is a clear difference that Lite application have not Stories feature in it.

However, this lite version of Facebook Messenger is only available for Android and for iOS users it will possibly be available soon. In Pakistan, in slow network areas (Where 3G or 4G is not available yet), people are using Facebook Lite as this is lite version and use fewer internet data.
