Samsung is a South Korean tech giant company and from the last year, it is in some critical crisis. Last year, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 backfired and company faced a big deficit.  As we, all know that Samsung has recently revealed their flagships Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Few days after its release, Galaxy S8 users reported a Red-Tinted issue in the phone’s display.

The issue came when users unboxed the phone for the first time and after some time Samsung, itself confirmed the issue. At first, company officials told that this issue is not a hardware or some quality problem and user can solve this issue by going to settings of the phone. Some customers tried these settings and could not found any solution so after their negative response the company decided to roll out a wireless update to its smartphones.

Now as promised, Samsung has decided to roll out a wireless update for its users. The company started to roll out the update from its own home. This update will add some extra option ‘Full Screen Color Balance’ in Adaptive Display Screen mode and ‘Screen Edge Color Balance’ in Screen Mode menu. The company has also said that if any user who is not satisfied with display after updating the mobile will be given a newly replaced mobile.

What was the real issue?

Samsung officials do not provide any justification other than that the red tint issue was due to a feature and this was not a hardware issue. The Company Officials said that:

Due to the nature of Super AMOLED displays, there can be natural differences in color. Users can optimize the color depending on their preferences.

How to download this update?

This update will be sent through FOTA (Firmware over the Air) and it can be downloaded by opening System Updates from the settings menu. This rolled out update now only available in South Korea and will be rolled out in other regions soon.

So, best wishes and hard luck for Samsung. This new update will provide its customers more options and tricks to manage color temperature and hopefully, this update will fix all the display related issues.
